New beer in Pint Please. 0,75l bottle from beer tumbler. The beer is very dark brown, almost black. Slightly translucent and disappointingly thin looking. Big brown foam. Scent has roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice and anise. Very high carbonation, too high.. Mouthfeel is not as thin as I feared, but not too thick either. Roasted and dry malty first sip. Some dark chocolate, caramel and an unpleasant metallic note. Liquorice and anise are subtle but noticeable. Slightly grassy sensation here and there. The high carbonation dilutes the flavors. Ends with raw cocoa powder bitterness and sweet caramel. Enjoyable, but a bit flawed. Too high carbonation and slightly metallic taste. The big bottle goes down pretty effortlessly though.
