Tuoksu rusinaviini ja tammitynnyri. Hyi vittu. Mustanruskea. Puolen millin reunus. Maku paksu, rusinainen, kuivattua luumua. Juon nenä kiinni. Siirappia. Todella makea. Taatelia. Mämmiä. Melassia. Homehtunutta rypälettä (tokaji). Paranee lämmetessään. Saa enemmän puisia piirteitä. Konjakkisia sävyjä. Vähän ristiriitainen. Aluksi aika heikko. Lämmetessä parempi. Ei suosikki, mutta ansaitsi uuden arvion heti lämpimämpänä.

Kaikin tavoin kompleksi ja laadukas. Tillilihaa, tummaa suklaata ja tammea. Silti pehmeä. Pitkä moniulotteinen maku.

Nightcap. The glass is filled with muddy, deep dark brown, almost black beer. Looks somewhat brilliant actually. Carbonation behaves like a tame sheep as it creates a thin velvety lacing on the surface. The glass is otherwise entirely intact. Ooohh... what a marvelous fragrance! My nose wants to dive into this nectar of the gods. Generous dark fruits give a big kiss to my nose. I love the copious date, fig and raisin. Vanilla can't be ignored either, obviously thanks to Heaven Hill. Caramel is observable whereas honey is definitely very marginal. Further down the line, I can even spot a faint note of dark chocolate. Complexity grows to an applaudable level. 🖤🤎🖤 This is getting interesting. And intriguing for sure! Thick sensation in the mouth. I feel like a boy who lives on Heaven Hill. Geee! The tasting notes are multiple and vary from modest to overwhelming. Here's the list: Bourbon, vanilla, date, fig, raisin, prune, chocolate, cacao, syrup, caramel, honeycomb, oak barrel, rum, brown sugar. Deep flavors, rich nuances. The gates of heaven are open. 🖤🖤🤎 The body can only be rated as full. It's big but the sweetness obviously confuses my judgment. Who cares. The finish is sweet and lip-glueing, no need to relist all the components — the list is long anyway. The aftertaste would laugh once more for fun and then someone would say, yessir, those days were fine but these are the good old times when we're old and our memories are grey, if we have any left at all. The mouthfeel is full, velvety, round, smooth, thick and sticky. The 30 month HH barrel aging makes the beer deep, rich, elegant, still gentle, complex and layered. Phenomenal! I'm inclined to give this a 5 and I'm thinking hard to figure out an excuse not to. But let me be honest: had I had this in glass and someone told me this costs 200€, I'd be thrilled like Michael Jackson in his Peter Pan dreamworld. However, this cost just 14€ if I remember right. Very reasonable for such a beautiful piece. Best before 2032. 440 bottles exist in the first place. Only. Ok, enough numerical nonsense. If anything could be developed, it's complexity: the beer opens up the broad flavor palette all at one go, I would definitely prefer a slow evolvement where flavors assume their roles more gradually and one by one. Let it be my excuse this time.

Todella tumma ruskea, samea väri. Tuoksussa makeaa rusinaisuutta ja kuivakakkua. Vieno tynnyröidyn alkoholin tuoksu on makea. Superpehmeä ja öljymäinen kärki. Todella makeaa ja tummaa toffeista makua. Rungossa myös kuivahedelmää sekä taatelia ja rusinaa, aavistus kuivatettua luumua. Jälkimaku alkaa pienellä vaniljaisella suklaisuudella kuivaheeelmien kera. Mahtava kokonaisuus, joka olisi vielä varmasti kypsynyt pullossa BBD:n ollessa 15.11.2032. 🤣 Tässä oli kyllä pyöreyttä ja pehmeyttä niin paljon, että ne eivät paljoa olisi voineet lisääntyä.

The Good Ol' Times CoolHead Brew Barley Wine matured for 30 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels 12% miellyttävä tuoksu, makea, lakritsi, tynnyri. maku on makea, tasapainoinen ja hieman hapokas, samettinen. jälkimaku makea, raikas, hieman hapan hyvä Barley Wine mukavaan rauhalliseen iltaan

Wappu. Hieno bourbonilla höystetty barleywine. Rusinaa, ylikypsää hedelmää, saksanpähkinää sekä makeaa maltaisuutta. Pehmeä, sopivan tuhdin täyteläinen runko, mukavan lämmittävä. Oikein kelpo hitaammin nautittava coolheadilta.

Tasapainoinen, rusinainen ja todella vahvasti bourbonia, sekä tynnyriä. Tykkään.
