Une Red Ale qui rappelle la Rodenbach. Sur une base maltée, on a des très belles notes boisées, passage de 2 ans en fût oblige, une pointe d'acidité, c'est rond, envoûtant, du très beau travail.

Flight 3/4. Clear, deep raisin brown beer builds a brilliant white, dense head that retreats soon to a rather thick lace ring. Retention seems to be long. Lovely cherry invites a bit of redcurrant juice in the appealing fragrance. Wheat base is indisputable. A tad vinous. The flavor composition includes sour cherry, redcurrant, red apple and a small amount of young red wine. Is this barrel aged? I can observe an oaky vibe among the components. A bit aggressive, generally speaking, but otherwise enjoyable. The body is, what else but, light? The finish doesn't deviate from upfront at all. And lingers long on the taste receptors. The mouthfeel is light, tart, puckering, vinous and a bit tannic. And like I said, a modest hint of barrel aging can be spotted. (Damn, I didn't realize that I had had this before).

Beer 4/5. Pours translucent, deep date brown with a moderate ruby reflection. A moussy, cream-yellow head grows easily one finger tall. Retention is long. The nose picks sour cherry, dry fruit wine, oak barrel, perhaps also some apple peel. The tongue gets shocked of the powerful sour cherry, fruit wine, red wine barrel, sour apple and redcurrant. The body rates astonishingly light for 7.5 %. The finish doesn't change the route, only do the intensity of the components decline to some extent. The mouthfeel is light minus, tart, puckering, somewhat vinous and barrel aged. Not as Flanders-y as I hoped for but good stuff anyway.
