Smooth and tasty peanut and vanilla but nothing like a Snickers bar for me.

2022 Christmas Advent Beer 14. Was really looking forward to trying this cos I loves snickers! It wasn’t the full on snickers experience I hoped it was but then it was never going to be, it’s beer not chocolate! Peanut and caramel flavours seems on point and appropriate. Chocolate was overly synthetic which is surprising considering the base beer is their chocolate stout… having said that, this was drunk at 1:30am after 3 pretty decent IPAs, so maybe my tastebuds were a bit squiffy

Looks like a gimmick but Vocation are solid so I'd give it a try. Pour was standard enough fare but the little head dissipated quickly, even before I could snap it. The scent upon opening was quite clear and distinct, lots of chocolate and caramel upfront, and with some digging and patience, I could find some peanut. In the mouth it has lots of character, a silky foaminess that starts well but falls a little short because of carbonation. The 9% caught me off guard but contrasts well with the sweetness. The taste is really just chocolate and caramel, the peanut doesn't survive. The sweet milkiness carries the risk of being over bearing but the high alcohol cuts through it well. It didn't satisfy my itch for a snickers and while it is a decent imperial milk stout, once is enough.
