Couldn’t not try this. An English dubbel? Really? It’s really pretty decent. It’s seriously malty and bready and slightly smoky. It’s like a hooky westmalle, which is not a bad thing.

First had this in a lovely Michelin starred restaurant and loved it. Tried it on a number of occasions since and it's never quite lived up to the original. Maybe the ambiance helped?? Anyhow, it's not bad, just not as good as many genuine Belgian Dubbels, all the usual tastes are there just turned down to half volume.
