Interference Is Temporary
5.8% Red IPA
Brewed with our friends at Muted Horn in Berlin, this Red IPA takes the best of the rich complex malt character of Red IPAs, but with a modern, light and crisp West Coast presentation.
Hopfen: Loral, Simcoe

Beer 11 Advent 2022 Another style I wouldn’t necessarily go for But yea this has a nice hoppy taste, Has the fruity crispness of an IPA but the harsh bitterness of a red beer It’s a good beer but not for me

Here's something a bit different a red IPA but wait it's not just a rare red ale it's also a west coast! A unique one for me. Slight haze in this cranberry and caramel looking brew, visible carbonation but very minimal head retention after a fast pour. Beautiful malt on the nose, it's been a while since I've had that, it's lovely like caramel and whiskey and rye. Silky smooth in the mouth whilst being thin, with medium body and a extended finish. Sweetness is really coming through like toffee apple via the fruity hops of Simcoe and Loral, the latter of which being the dominant one. But the caramel maltyness hides explicit fruits, preventing any emerging out, instead the hops keep this malty red beer bright and light. It's like English dark ale of old had a baby with a west coast pale. Simcoe gives a suggestion of tropical and citrus fruit via a certain tang but it never really gets there. Loral is giving out orange blossom and elderflower flavours that provides lightness and elegance to what would be a caramel whiskey style ale. Don't get me wrong, that is still this brews main direction but merging it with light American hops lifts it away from English ale/American red into a finessed brew. You find pine in the finish fighting against the permanent sweetness, it is a afternote. It's something different and makes a change, it's not going to win against a big DDH NEIPA or a barrel aged sour or a Imperial stout for me, but it's a nice light and flavourful malt red to have once in a blue moon!
