Has a toasted caramel malty taste to it. Finishes dry. Basic and good.

Enjoying a good Georgia brewery Oktoberfest beer. Football Saturday by two tough SEC teams. Medium high head. Sweet malty aroma. Deep clear copper color. Texture is both smooth and crisp. Flavor has the expected marzen flavor with the addition of a very roasted, almost char quality to the malt. Finish reveals a mild, lemon peel citrus bitterness. Aftertaste has only a roasted bitterness, everything else disappears. Terrapin is one of my favorite regional breweries but, for me, they could have done better. Almost no sweetness, marzen flavor is in the background, flavor could have had a little more punch, bitter finish lasted too long. But this is their version of Octoberfest. Why make a beer that tastes like everybody else? Be yourself and try to make something unique. Think of an Oktoberfest beer brewed for IPA lovers. It is very drinkable which is the definition of Oktoberfest beers. For that, they succeeded.
