Bursting with tropical aroma, accompanied with sticky grapefruit rind, aromatic citrus, and sweet pineapple from the combination of Amarillo, El Dorado & Idaho 7 hops.
Kveik is not a style but a farmhouse-style yeast strain. From the many Kveik variations, we have used Hornindal Kveik. A cleaner profile that accentuates hops and mouthfeel while also giving a very subtle farmhouse funk, orange peel and tangy citrus notes. A perfect workhorse for a juicy IPA

Very pale and only partly hazy is this IPA from Brighton's own Unbarred brewery, using kveik yeast along with Amarillo, El Dorado and Idaho 7 hops.
The nose is bright and light, projecting citrus and tropical aromas, but give it a swirl and then you can smell something more substantive; depth and body.
It's soft in the mouth with medium body and a bit of a remaining tang to finish. This beer is very lively and a fast pour isn't recommended!
First impressions are I'm not that keen/it's different. I've had kveiks before that I've really liked and others that are just good. This one's gonna take some introspection and dissection!
To put it simply, it's tangy with a wheaty yeast.
With more detail, I get a cross between a Saison and a lemon ipa; grapefruit, lemon and pineapple lay on your tongue and don't let up even though it's a soft and blunt beer. The tang and dry finish almost let you taste the yeast. I wonder if you could make a sour from kveik. Anyway, wheatyness to a beer is tried and tested and that's true for craft too, like I mentioned Saison.
Maybe this is the first 'proper' kveik I've had I don't know. It's like a pale ale, a lemon IPA and a Saison in one.
Quite refreshing, soft, tropical and dry citrus tangy finish.
