Extended Quarantine Day #28. Confinement of Uusimaa Region Day #16. Went today to the forest to scope possible brain mushrooms. Found none. Probably a bit too early yet. Sauna beer. My souvenir from 🇨🇦 Poured a sip in the glass to assess the appearance. The beer pours semiclear, gold and produces a white, small-bubbled head that fails to reach one finger's height. Hair-thin lacing remains longer on the top. The scent is faintly vegetal with asparagus. It goes without saying that it's unpleasant. The taste portrays surprisingly sweet pale malt, a small crack of biscuit and distant hops. The light-bodied beer finishes quickly with light-bitter hops, a tad standard malt, crackers and a whisper of dry grass. The mouthfeel is light, vegetal, simple, unclean and just lame. Sauna beer always goes thru the test of hot sauna stones. This beer emits roasted bread but the scent is fairly meager. It's surprising because even poor beers release a decent scent but this is different. And that difference is not positive.
