Sahti time! 🍺 This homebrew has been boosted with small amounts of Caramel 100 and Munich Dark malts in addition to the basic Sahti ingredients. We have actually used such a cocktail before but in slightly different proportions. This brew is now almost three weeks old.
The Sahti is semicloudy, brown as it fills the glass. There's no carbonation as usual — this is like a real ale — and, hence, no head forms on the top. Just a few bubbles as a result of pouring but they vanish rushedly.
Banana wants to seduce my nose. It gets help from its friends of sweet malt, caramel and a suggestion of chocolate. Have to admit that this is getting interesting.
Banana is relatively hefty also on the tastebuds. Goes nicely with the tradition! Additionally, I'm picking sweet malt, caramel, a small amendment of milk chocolate and a pinch of cookie.
The body is medium-full to full. It's probably intensified a bit by the sweet sensation. The finish pushes forward fermented banana and a bit of banana skin, accompanied by the malty side that is still rather sweet as well as distant alcoholic warmth. The aftertaste tries to understand the ones that love, and their demands, frail and bedazzled from all the glare.
The mouthfeel is quite full, lip-glueing, traditional, slightly warming and astonishingly easily gulpable. Pleasure to sip, even in volumes.
