Low head, disappears. Sweet malt, hints of spice and some alcohol. Color is clear deep red, almost opaque but some light shines through. Texture has a softness to the palate. Caramel and spice arrive fast followed by a distinctive rum oak. The feeling I get is mellow. Easy going flavor that's well balanced. Intensity of flavor seems perfect for this beer. Finish turns a little more rustic. More oak barrel, a touch of bitterness, and.... dried raisin? From the first sip I loved this beer. Sad that I only bought one. I could easily sit back on a quite afternoon and enjoy several of these.
