What should one do in the case of craving for a Pale Ale? Crack a Pale Ale open? Yes. A correct answer. That's exactly what I do now.
And there we go. Lucid gold is the color. Looks classical. Carbonation behaves well. A medium-bubbled head exceeds one finger but not much more. The short retention fails to maintain the froth more than for a short while. Not a tiniest bubble can be found on the top thereafter.
Apricot and tangerine emanate to the nostrils, escorted by orange zest. The scent is, additionally, slightly floral. The maltbase can be easily observed in the air.
The taste is a combination of ripe fruity and malty elements: apricot is actually relatively oppressed whereas the orange peel and grapefruit tend to raise their volume significantly. A drop of tangerine zest mingles with a faint floral hint. The latter could be jasmine. The malty side is recognizable, moderately grainy and biscuity. Not overwhelmingly though.
The body is light to light-medium. When I swallow the drink, the grapefruity and lemon peel nuances grow in intensity. When there's no love in town, this new aftertaste keeps bringing you down; all the places you have been trying to find a love supreme.
The mouthfeel is light-medium, a bit crisp, still smooth, clean and balanced. Ungimmicky. Retro. Nice.
