Barrel Aged Double Fudgy Brownie Stout, United States
4.3
Back to having my wonderful Duo beers with the son-in-law in Texas. We've really stocked up on beers for this. Enjoyed this Untitled Art before but this time they barrel aged it. We are both looking forward to it. Where is the damn head on this. Poured heavy without a single bubble of carbonation. Happened to both of us so it's no accident. Can states double fudgy brownie and they weren't lying. Intense brownie aroma with alcohol background. Heavy, syrupy texture. Intense flavor from the very start. First comes a very sweet, totally accurate brownie. Along with it is an alcohol level that is every bit of 14.2%. Bourbon with the oak barrel aging is clear. No other flavors are present. Not in the middle and not in the finish. From first to last you get an accurate fudge brownie and bourbon barrel. I enjoy sweet dessert stouts but this started out a little too sweet even for me. However, it came in a tall boy so it took quite a while to sip my way through it. As the beer warmed, the sweet brownie receded and the bourbon barrel elevated. This was actually an improvement. I recommend that if you try this beer, and I do recommend it, that you save at least half for it in a warmer experience.
