First brewed in 1901, this beer is the oldest surviving example of a traditional northeastern brown ale. The full aroma leads to a balance of ripe grain and spicy hops in the flavour, resulting in a long, bittersweet finish.

A no-nonsense brown ale. Malty and nutty flavour is really moreish.

Really smooth and flavoursome brown ale. My first for this brewery and it’s made me want more. Done the basics very well. Comparing it to Newkie Brown, I’m thinking this could be better but I’d need to try them side-by-side as it’s definitely a classic. Bosh for this beer👍
