Brought this back from Texas for a duo. Big boy oatmeal Stout sounds delicious. Incredibly high head, huge effervescent bubbles. Quickly exhausts itself and disappears. Aroma of roasted coffee. First sip reveals that the effervescence isn't finished. Strong carbonation continues in the mouth making the flavor difficult to find. Later as the effervescence subsides the dark chocolate is hardly noticeable. A faint breath of espresso and then gone. From that point on it is deep roasted coffee malt. As the finish takes over it becomes more like day old burnt coffee with a bitterness to go with it. Not impressed because this is an oatmeal stout. It is supposed to be soft and creamy and it is neither. The texture is thin and crisp and the effervescence is way over the top. I've had half of this big boy can and I'm going to pour the rest out so I can move on to a better beer.

VAAHTO: Olematon GREY'S VIEW Hiilihappoinen ensikärki. Ensimaussa saapuu suklaakastikemaisuutta ja ronskia mallasta. Maltaat ja viljaisuus tuntuu myös oluen rungossa, mikä on puolituhti, hieman koneöljymäinen, taittuen kuitenkin liivatemaisuuteen. Keskivaiheella paahteiset maltaat nousevat kärkeen yhdessä pähkinäisen, fariinisokerisen ja hieman siirappisen tunnun sävyllä. Katkerot nitkuttavat kielenkärkeä päätteeksi. Ei tämä nyt oikein vakuuta. MUUTA MAINITTAVAA: Toppling Goliath. En lähtisi hirveästi tätä olutta suosittelemaan. Ko. panimolla on parempiakin vaihtoehtoja.
