Another beer while smoking fish 🐟😋🍺 Pours opaque pitch black. Oppressed carbonation gives rise to a fawn head that falls short of half a finger and melts quickly to a hair-thin lace ring on the sides. The beer is obviously too chilled as the olfactory provision seems to shy away big time. Nevertheless, I pick dark chocolate, cacao nibs and relatively copious licorice. I can also spot lactose and maybe even a suggestion of vanilla. Not sure about the latter though. The gustatory universe is composed of a colossal combination of licorice, cacao nibs, lactose and strawberry mash, almost like jam. That's awesome — I didn't know that there's strawberry in this beer. And as a matter of fact, there is no strawberry here. So, what the hick? Am I hallucinating or what? It's clearly on my tastebuds. Well whatever. On we go. Vanilla is truly remote if at all present. The ABV clocks as high as 13 % but it's dangerously camouflaged. Overwhelming everything for sure. Both adjuncted and malt-originate. The body is massive, full without question. The finish is fruity and berry-rich with the familiar chocolatey and licoricey vibes. Strong vibes. The aftertaste can't dance this off, it'll cover up the sky and cleave it apart. The mouthfeel is full, deep, thick, sticky and adjuncted. It's distinctly rich in berries as well as certainly jam-like. Lips get glued. I can sense also modest tartness in the taste, which combines neatly with the sweet, sappy flavor pack. Desserty although I'm not there, yet.
