It lists as an IPA with whole leaf hops on the can. What it is is a very west coast-ish IPA. Has a heavy malt bill that leans towards toffee, molasses and brown sugar. What is surprising is it’s not over the top sweet (but sweet). Now throw in some pine with light citrus and a light + hoppy bite that helps counteract the sweet malt. Overall it is still a malt bomb. I dig the toffee. You definitely need to appreciate a west coast style to enjoy this one but doesn’t quite meet a true WC style. It’s sweet enough that I probably could only handle a couple.
