Smoked salmon anyone???

Pours a deep red/black with not a lot of head, but that might be my fault. A mild smokiness wafts nicely to the nose and complements a roast caramel malt aroma with hints of nut and a faint suggestion of chocolate and even fainter, licorice? Very delightful smooth edged body, neither sweet not bitter. Roast malt flavours are blended well, and include burnt caramel, cola, nut and I hesitate to say coffee but there seem to be whispers of it. The smokiness is perfect for this tame and pleasant Porter.
