Very appealing looking can, part of a series. Not sure I could handle them all. Opening this and therm intense whisky smell hit immediately. Pour was calm and slick with a little carbonation but nothing eventful. Left the jet black body with no head and some trace mocha coloured bubbles. Scent is as advertised, Irish whiskey, black coffee, brown sugar and I think a little chocolate hiding in the back. Mouthfeel is intense in the way that all good BA stouts are intense. The warmth of the whiskey up front, the medium bodied stout follows with and is a little oily. Taste is a different matter. The brown sugar and mild chocolate come to the fore, not overly sweet only moderately. But the whisky then steam rolls everything, obliterating the other profiles. The coffee doesn't get a chance to strike a balance or even shine through at all. This is too much like drinking whiskey. I think they should have taken it out of the barrels a little sooner.

Tuoksussa kevyen turpeista wiskiä ja kahvia. Makuun ei ole muuta lisättävää kuin kevyt savu, siis perus IS lisukkeiden lisäksi. Ehkä noille "kevyt" sanoille kannattaa jonkinlaista varauksellisuutta asettaa😂 Tämä Lough Gill panimo on osoittautunut aivan loistavaksi, ainakin näiden edullisten BAIS tuotteiden suhteen.
