Suklaan pehmeys/makeus on samalla tavalla taustalla. Myös jälkimaussa on huomattavissa sama suunta, että humalat antaa periksi ja maku pehmenee. Nyt loppuivat Pintan tuotteet ja voittaja oli selkeästi Portermass.

Today's nightcap is an Imperial Baltic Porter. The beer is dressed in black, fully opaque. Lazy carbonation, nevertheless, produces a dense moussy, tawny head that shoots three fingers high. The foamy stack descends sluggishly downwards to a porous lacing on the top. Multiple small traces can be observed on the rim of the glass. The scent is really intriguing and uncommon. I'm fighting hard to identify the predominant fragrance. It's spicy or herbal but I just can't find the right name now. There's a bit of licorice root, roasted malt, cacao powder and soot. Ok, I give up, the main component remains a mystery to me — feels like I'm missing something essential here. The taste profile is beautifully big and attractive. Cacao nibs, licorice root, a pinch of fennel, faint soot and roasted malt are, at least, detectable. The spicy/herbal element disturbs me big time, not because of the flavor itself but because I can't find the right name for it. Daaamn!! Tropical honeydew starts also popping up on the tastebuds, but in small amounts only. Interesting indeed, not least because I feel like I had missed something here. Gosh! The body is full. The finish is roastier, sootier and a bit charred. Several of the earlier flavors are still present, as well. The aftertaste enjoys being puzzled for a long time. The mouthfeel is full, soft, smooth, roasty and slightly charred. It's also lip-glueing, balanced, relatively gentle and a tad layered. I should definitely also add herbal and aromatic, even fragrant. I'm particularly intrigued by the fact that this gives me challenges in the form of a mysterious element/elements. It's never too late to learn new things. Well, I didn't actually learn anything, I just learned that I need to learn more. Overall, good stuff!! NOTE: The barcode leads to Brasserie Vrooden's 🇨🇦 "Imperator". It's interesting since normally a false barcode is the same brewery's other beer but these two are not even from the same continent.

Lähes mustaa. Runsas beige vaahto. Tuoksu sitruksinen. Maku Black IPAmainen. Sitrusta, rypäleitä, suklaata ja aavistuksen humalaa(BB10/1/23) Hyvä olut.
