With family in Pearland Texas visiting a new brewery for me, Bakfish Brewing. Nice facility, lots of customers and a very friendly staff. Opaque brown color in this small flight snifter glass. Aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Medium texture with a dry raw crisp personality. Soft but none of the creaminess expected of a stout. Flavor conveys dark roasted coffee, no sweetness and with a level of bitterness that accompanies such coffee. Finish only ads a lasting mild bitter quality. I enjoyed the beer but it reminds me much more of a old world Porter or a raw Brown ale.
