Thank God it's Friday! The week has been hectic. Now a beer to settle down for the weekend. The beer displays misty, deep warm orange. Carbonation is first eager but relaxes quickly. A mediocre bubbly head forms on the top and then dissolves to zero. Sour mango pinches in the nose. Very fruity scent! I can also find apple and orange, escorted by wheat malt and a good load of funky wild yeast aromas. Not sure though how wild the yeast has been here. The sour flavor profile is apparent: mango is ripe and mushy. And sour like I said. Sour apple, white grape, raw gooseberry and a hint of orange loom in the background. Unfortunately, I fail to identify pomegranate among the gustatory components. Wheat malt and wild yeast merge into the cocktail. The body is light to light-medium. The finish is equally fruity as upfront, with mango, orange, apple, perhaps also a suggestion of rhubarb. The aftertaste keeps peeling enamel from my teeth for a good while. The mouthfeel is juicy, tart, puckering, very acidic and even moderately funky. It's summery and relatively tropical as well as slightly mouthcoating. I certainly appreciate the spontaneous fermentation impression here but I still find this a bit average.
