Past posting from February 5th 2022 at The Tap House in Chattanooga with Ben. Third beer on a flight of five. Opaque brown color, head has very thin small bubbles but continuing. Sweet coconut aroma with some liqueur alcohol. Very heavy and creamy texture. First flavor is an abundance of coconut and chocolate. Closely followed by a strong heavy liqueur alcohol, traces of licorice. Finish continues and is dominated by a heavy strong dark chocolate.

This one wears a muddy, medium-black gown. The head is equally silky but paler, like cappuccino. Retention is substantiality protracted as a neat lace ring circles the otherwise fragile haze on the top. The dense wrappings remain on the glass for astonishingly long. If the previous beer was desserty, this is desserty in power three³!! Whoaah! I can't omit chocolate, cacao nibs, popcorn, toasted hazelnut and marshmallow, they are all massive. Should I start insulin, just in case? I can, furthermore, identify gingerbread and a faint syrupy twist among the components. The tongue is waiting for the first sip both impatiently and with alert. Now what?? It's not as alarming at all. It's intense, of course, but looks like it doesn't trigger diabetes this time. I can recognize dark chocolate, cacao nibs, marshmallow, toasted hazelnut, brownie and dark biscuit. Even suggestions of roasted malt and maple syrup enter my consciousness. Coconut that should be part of the package is unidentifiable in the fragrance but signals its presence on the tongue. A faint touch of alcohol lingers on the gums for long. Almost manageable this is. The body is full. Probably even less full than that of the previous beer. Or less sugary. Who knows. The finish reduces the sweetness even further but maintains the otherwise strong flavors. Interestingly, I'm getting a coffeeish note in the end for the first time. The aftertaste wears lipstick, grins a smile of glee for quite a long time while serving nuts to Hazel. (Who the f*** is Hazel?) The mouthfeel is deep, rich, full, strong and remotely alcoholic. It's definitely lip-glueing but not excessively sticky. Desserty for sure albeit reasonable. Balanced in a way. Well, not entirely... 😅 Good stuff anyway.
