Bourbon maustaa hienosti vaniljaa ja hedelmää

Viime vuoden lahja tänään lasiin. Kaatuu lasiin öljynä. Tuoksu on todella mieto ja vaikeasti löydettävissä. Maku hieman pettymys. Vahva barleywinemainen imelyys. Tynnyrikypsytys jättänyt jälkensä, mutta vanilja on kyllä pienessä osassa. Ihan hyväähän tämä on, mutta pohjalan tuotteeksi melkoinen pettymys.

0,33l bottle from stemmed beer glass. Bottled 27.01.2022 and best before is in 2026 on the same day. Black, oily looking beer. Thin and sizzling brown foam that disappears quickly. Scent isn't very strong. Just a hint of chocolate and roasted malts. Faint note of bourbon. Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is thick, oily and has a nice chocolate powder texture. Lots of vanilla on the first bite. Followed by a massive and sweet maple syrup avalanche. Chocolate sauce, dark roasted coffee, caramel and wood. Bourbon is recognizable, but tequila isn't so much. Maple syrup is dominant and the overall taste is very sweet. Luckily sweetness is cut by the dark roastiness and slightly bitter dark chocolate. Alcohol is very well hidden, only a slight warmth on the throat. Ends with mellow vanilla, boozy bourbon and sweet chocolate sauce. Very, very good. One of the best from Põhjala in a while. With more noticeable tequila, I'd be considering 5 stars. Climbs easily to the top 5 of the Cellar Series.

Vanilja, ananas ja aprikoosi. Makeutettu hunajalla tai vaahterasiirapilla. Onpa jälleen hyvä kokonaisuus Pöhjalalta.
