Double Dale's
9.0% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
Double Dale’s is brewed with juicy, tropical El Dorado and complex Talus hops, keeping with the Dale’s tradition of utilizing only American hops. Fruity, piney flavors from the hops mingle with a caramel-driven malt bill, and the whole beast is supported by a new mineral-forward house blend of H2O, which includes six brewing salts. The result is a larger-than-life spin on Dale’s that’s just as packable, drinkable and recyclable as the original.

Past posting this from last Saturday's Alabama versus Tennessee football game. Got home too late to post right then. Was invited to go on to the field with the Alabama 2023 Men's and Women's SEC Cross Country Champions. I was part of our first championship 50 years ago. Great honor that they decided to remember us. Created three finger high head, frothy and lasting. Crystal clear orange in color. Aroma is citrus and hoppy, very hoppy. Flavor, while distinctly orange, is much more of the rind or peel. Very pity. For a double IPA, this isn't near as bitter as I feared. It's actually very tolerable and has a strange citrus sweetness along with the bitterness. Alcohol is not evident at 9%. I'm actually enjoying this much more than I thought I would. Actually quite a bit.

Comme une Double IPA du Texas, USA. Tout sauf fade. Elle envoie une grosse amertume, des saveurs très herbacées et florales. Pins et pamplemousse à la fois. C'est riche en goûts. Un peu brute ou bourrine quand même.

Huge eruption of deep, malty funk as soon as I opened this, I knew it'd be a good one. Pour was excellent giving a golden body with a copper tinge. Plenty of bubbles with a little translucence and a robust finger of foam. Scent is a wall of deep malt, lots of bread and caramel, only slight fruit profile, some mango buried behind the malt with lots of pine. Mouthfeel starts light as it builds up the to weight of the dipa body. A mild carbonation is present but doesn't interfere with the weight and warmth. Taste is malt upfront, bread and caramel, modestly sweet. Mango comes around and the sweetness is tamed by the pine resin and warmth of 9% before it gets over powering. Another great American ipa.

Aika täyteläinen dipa. Hedelmäisyyttä löytyy, mutta ei överisti. Katkerot tulee reippaasti esiin, mutta nekin hyvin balanssissa. Kuivahko jälkimaku.
