So while I very much enjoy the bourbon barrel finish that is so prominent as well as the creamy texture of the beer, I’m not a huge fan of the way the sweetness palletizes itself.

In Texas with family having a trio from Upland Brewing. Three of their Teddy Bear Kisses varieties of Bourbon Barrel aged Imperial stouts. The expected opaque brown color, tiny head with dissipating small effervescence. Aroma is not pronounced, small amounts of sweet roasted malt with notes of bourbon alcohol. First sip reveals soft and creamy texture. An explosion of flavor. Intense amounts of creamy bourbon, milk chocolate, cinnamon and Graham cracker. Everything you would expect from a S'mores. Totally well balanced and completely delicious dessert scout. Never expected this to turn out to be so good. Thought really hard about giving this a 5.0, it came so close. Really looking forward to the next two Teddy Bear Kisses.
