Careful with that axe, Eugene
5.2% Rye / Roggenbier
Deep in the Great Smoky Mountains, wisps of smoke rise from a half-hidden moonshine bourbon whiskey still. Emanating from a dark crowd of sugar maple trees, the distant sound of duelling banjos drifts through the swirling fog. Your mind plays tricks on you, the hairs on your neck stand up, you swear you hear someone whisper, ‘Careful with that axe, Eugene’, as you turn towards the voice… And SCREAM! A red rye bourbon ale brewed with red rye crystal malt, double roasted crystal malt, rye malt and aromatic malt. Natural whiskey flavour and Bourbon vanilla essence. Hopped with USA Apollo, Cascade and Amarillo. Deep autumn red ale. On the nose there are red fruits, think cherries and raspberries, with a rich spicy malt note and whiskey. The palate leads with sweet malt, spicy rye and rich vanilla and a lingering bitter finish.

I’m not a fan of red or rye ales but this has a good Bourbon and vanilla flavour, quite nice.
