My favorite place here, Au Coin Mousse, is unfortunately closed today, so I had to find another place. La Taproom is a place I've never been to. It's not been around for too long anyway. Let me check it out! No flights here 👎🏻 Two glass sizes only, 33 cl and 50 cl. Alright... 🙄 Anyway, I'll start with a Helles. Colors translucent amber. A dense bubbleless off-white head reaches one finger and descends gradually to a still quite thick lace ring. The olfactory provision is almost numb. Like zero. What's the case? I can only pick very distant malt, nothing else. Well, at least the same maltiness grows when the beer gets warmer. The taste then? Quite decent. Medium-intense malt dominates the whole thing. A grassy hoppy twist elevates from behind and intensifies toward the end. Grainy for sure. A pinch of cream cracker can also be detected. As if a whisper of butter loomed also in the background. Not sure though. The body is light to light-medium. The mouthfeel gives a bit of crispness, a drying sensation, huskiness. Butter hints at diacetyl. Fairly gulpable though.
