Son-in-law and family made it to Alabama from Texas. Don't have to Duo all these anymore, we rate them together. Poured like syrup into the glass with no head. Black as midnight. Only the smallest amount of sweet alcohol aroma. Heavy texture but not syrupy, a dry quality. First taste brings a stronger than 10% alcohol, roasted dark chocolate. This is supposed to be a an imperial coconut stout but only got the smallest hint of coconut early. As the finish starts both the alcohol and dark chocolate intensify. Very late in the finish the coconut reappears. Unusual in that the coconut was expected to be the dominant flavor but it was if it was chilling in the background while the chocolate and alcohol were demanding all the attention. Once they exhausted themselves the coconut reappeared. Would have given it a higher rating if the coconut had a stronger presence.
