BEER: Log Cabin Weller’s Full Proof BREWERY: Pure Project Brewing BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (BA) COUNTRY: USA ABV.: 11.3% COLOUR (EBC): Dark Brown (85.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Silencing. Sweet vanilla, maple sugars and chocolates with burnt wood and deep cocoa. Wild. Absolutely. HEAD: Pretty much nonexistent. GREY’S VIEW Weller’s Full Proof Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout w/ Maple Syrup & Cocoa. Oomph that aroma is deep and dark souled. *deep sigh* It’s a breathe of a dragon which has been sleeping for centuries in its cave. Okay. The first sip brings in the mouthfeel, which is kinda like on the thick side. Almost no bubbles are there and sugars are quite high. So yeah. Sweet stuff. The Weller’s Full Proof grows in fast with burnt wood, thick woody being, molassied grains and also that beautiful warmth of that dragon breathe is notable Taste is somewhat interesting and surely complex enough. First I get dark cocoa and burnt wood with dark brown sugars and slow maple syrup. Then it slows down and chocolate covered dark berries walks in front. There’s hints of minerals there too with some rosewater, but mostly it’s dark sweet entirity. Aftertaste has more of burnt wood with lip gluing sugars with also the sturdy maltbase peeking out. And as usual. Also this gets better as it breathes and warms up a bit. OTHER NOTES: Deep and dark being. Rich in sugars and all the other beings. Barrels are quite nicely presented, although not spot on to me. I really liked the complexity in this one. Slow sipper for sure. BOTTLED 5/2021 TASTED 8/2021
