Decided to finally open this Sam Adams Porter while watching the NFL. Absolutely shocked at the height of this head. Stopped pouring just in time or it would have run out of the glass. Held to the light it shines through as a clear red. Beautiful. Still waiting on this damn head to recede so I can try it. Get the vanilla immediately. Has some oak in the background. Light on the malt. A medium thin texture. Carries the flavor into the finish in a smooth manner and late, very late, turns faintly dry. Very nice and very drinkable beer. Classic in a simplistic style. I like it.
