Strong, dark, malty lager. This "liquid bread" sustained German monks during periods of fasting. The ingredients include a mountain of grain, hard work, patience and love on the part of the brewers.

Caramel aroma. Taste has caramel, bready malts and some bitterness in the finish that helps to cut some of the sweetness. The body is medium-full with a smooth mouthfeel and lower carbonation. It's good. High 3.5/5
