Opaque black beer flows sluggishly like crude oil. Looks thick. Carbonation is demure, fully in line with what I anticipated. A restrained chocolatey head emerges on the top and reaches mere half a finger before it waves goodbye and settles to nil. The scent is surprisingly timid: I can solely detect faint coffee beans with a subdued roasted touch. Abundant dark cacao nibs, a bit of molasses and limited licorice constitute the gustatory triumph. Roast can again be sensed but not to the extent of being burned or charred. The body is robust. Curvy like that corner of the world likes to display. The finish lifts roastedness higher and tweaks the package drier. Cacao is absolutely raw and sugarfree. The aftertaste wants to have its butt lifted in a Brazilian style but is told that the money is sufficient for a haircut only. The mouthfeel is full, intense, massively thick as well as moderately roasty. It's basically smooth but portrays also occasionally its rougher side. Certainly no layers. Hence, fairly straighforward. Helps to flush down my self-made halloumi burger. With a generous punch of homegrown chilis of course 🌶️🌶️🌶️
