With my son-in-law in Texas having another strong stout in the afternoon. Why not, I'm on vacation, sort of. I love Clown Shoes Brewery but this one looks like pure madness. Dark reddish brown color, almost opaque. Moderate head, doesn't last. The complexity of these flavors is difficult to describe. So much from different directions. First is the alcohol, a mixture of rum, bourbon and sweet wine. Then a combination of soft chocolate, vanilla and spice, all of it sweet. After an intense assault on the senses, the finish gives a gentle alcohol, mild coffee and chocolate ending. Clown Shoes put together an impossible combination of flavors and somehow brought it together in balance and intensity. Well done.
