Muddy, very deep dark brown beer looks like black coffee. Limited carbonation sets a cappuccino-colored foam cap that first spreads on the surface up to half a finger's height and then dissipates to the sides as a thin lace ring.
The nose celebrates relatively hefty maple syrup, some milk chocolate and caramelized muscovada sugar. I can also detect fairly distinct toffee and a nutty note that I would associate with hazelnut rather than pecan although it must be the latter.
The taste package serves loads of chocolate dessert like ganache-soaked chocolate brownie with a decent dollop of brandy. Alcohol lingers long on the sides of the tongue. Dark chocolate, cacao nibs, maple syrup and a tiny amount of vanilla are the primary components of the desserty cocktail. The nutty side is moderate and undistinguishable in any greater detail. Cane sugar puts the period to my rambling.
The body is medium to medium-full. 11 % would certainly merit fuller. The finish fails to camouflage the alcoholic touch. The chocolatey sphere is raw with a clearly diminished injection of maple syrup and a caramelly twist. The aftertaste is listening to the intensive humming of insects at a warm dawn and feels unity with the surrounding universe.
The mouthfeel is desserty, a tad sticky, really sappy, alcoholic and warming. Nice sweet-tooth nightcap where the alcoholic touch is not actually disturbing.
