Harms Volume 2 / Хармс Том 2, Russia
4.1
New beer in Pint Please. 🍺My 35th Russian beer (definitely need to get some more) 🍺My 250th Imperial Stout (definitely need to drink other beer styles more) Also, also I should buy more Brewlok. I'm a fan of their beers. Bottled on 4.12.2020 Temperature: +16 C Pitch black color. Small, creamy even head with average retention but stays on the edges forever. The texture looks smooth: 4/5 The nose has roasted aromas balanced well by sweet licorice root and malty scent. A good amount of dark fruity aromas as well and at the end rises a smoky aroma. Interestingly, I'm, also picking up sort of like a chili aroma. But I have no idea if they've used it in this beer🤷‍♂️when the beer gets warmer, a milk chocolate aroma also pops out. The intensity of the aroma is not mindblowing but the overall amount of stuff is pretty remarkable. Nice one: 4,25/5 Full, round mouthfeel with lovely warming alcohol. Balanced bitterness which lets the body and alcohol warmth take a lead. Even some wood feel but doesn't really feel as if this has been barrel-aged. A bold mouthfeel of a Russian Imperial Stout. I like this stuff: 4,5/5 The taste is on the sweeter side with malty and herbal licorice flavor. Alcohol flavor fits well with those sweet flavors. But this doesn't get too sweet at any point. The bitterness and roasty, almost ashy characteristics make sure of that. Aftertaste repeats the flavor: sweet, with warming sensation and then some roasty qualities: 12/15 I think a good Russian Imperial Stout is the kind of beer that keeps you warm on the cold winter days. The beer should have noticeable alcohol, roasty, and other dark malty characteristics with perhaps some fruity esters. And this beer has it all! There's most likely lots of aging potential as well or at least I can imagine that. What a tasty, big, and Bold RIS. UT rating of 4.23⭐ well deserved: 16,5/20 =41,25/50
