Tawny Port Medianoche
0.0% Imperial Stout
Tawny Port Medianoche is a blend of Imperial Stouts aged for 20 months in 10-20 year Tawny Port wine barrels. These unique casks impart notes of vanilla beans, peanut brittle, baking spices, dried black cherries and berry jam, which layer perfectly with the rich caramel, bittersweet chocolate and espresso flavors of the base beer.

BEER: Tawny Port Medianoche BREWERY: Weldwerks Brewing Co. BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (Tawny Port BA) COUNTRY: USA ABV.: ??.??% COLOUR (EBC): Deep Dark Red (65.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Chocolaty and red grapey. Seems intresting. HEAD: Tiny. Red/Brown. GREY’S VIEW Blend of Imperial Stouts aged 20 months in 10-20 year old Tawny Port Wine Barrels. Ooh it’s so thick! Chocolates blended to red grapes and molasses added there to the mix with the dry nuts and wood. Yeap. It’s a thick boi! There’s lovely feel of red wine and dark sweet wine hovering around this, adorable and awesome. Mouthfeel is thick and slow. Mouthfull of Imperial Stout and barrels is what it offers. ☠️ Yarr! ☠️ Some might say 💀 and why not me too. ☠️ Yarr! ☠️ It’s slow and thick to enjoy. The red grapes and that chocolate gets more clear after a good while after the sip, so it takes patience to enjoy this one. Aftertaste has maltbread, red grapes mixed to dark chocolates and some drybread there too to mix things up. OTHER NOTES: Surprizingly slow and thick to enjoy. Solid notes from the Port Barrels, but it has a bit too much of chocolates to disturb the barrels. And to me, it’s a bit too thick. BOTTLED 2/2021 TASTED 5/2021
