Pale pineapple coloured appearance that's hazy and almost opaque with no head retention and no visible carbonation. Dank peach on the nose with tropical pineapple and satsuma citrus. Soft, smooth and light in the mouth with medium body and a relatively short finish. Mirrored flavours to the nose a dankness that builds to take place of the vacant finish. It's something that I'm not used to getting from a supermarket brew. Coming in at 5% ABV its decidedly a pale but leaning more toward a session than an IPA for me due to its lightness despite the medium full body. It's hoppy, but not overly so and dank in a bit by bit manner so it's approachable. It won't catch people of guard with a strong tongue covering tang, but as I say this feeling does accumulate, for this beers benefit. It's finally bitter from the Citra grapefruit element coming through and again from the dankness, though thankfully this isn't really pine resinous, more citrus and tropical juicy resinous hops. It's not perfect, the tang and bitterness combined with citrusy Citra makes this almost sharp. The hop line up with extensive that shows both the quality and the compromise, the latter being Columbus and the former being Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. A classic trio and a old school starting block that you see less often now in NEIPAs. Pollys are killing is in these supermarket brews with only a very slight compromise of body, flavour, ABV etc. A shining example of how to do it. But it also runs proportionally to their pricing; £3 for a supermarket one, £4+ for real deal one. That's about right in reflecting what you get. No washed out water beer and certainly not low quality adjunct central.
