Siege Pale Ale, Ireland
Some beers from Pint Please and Western Herd Brewing Co. Thank you! 0,44l can from Spiegelau IPA-glass. Canned probably 27/04/21. Can design is simplistic and pleasant. Reminds me of The Garden Brewery from Hungary. Malts and hops are listed and some basic info on the beer and brewery. I would probably take a closer look of a can looking like this. Almost clear pale copper beer. Huge white foam, overcarbed. Unpleasant stuffy and yeasty scent with gone-bad milk note 😬 Very much overcarbonated. Mouthfeel is oily but thin. Taste is unpleasant. Cardboard, wet socks and bitter soap. Some grass and lemon, but not nearly enough to cover the bad taste. No reason to continue, something is clearly wrong with this. No score.

Western Herd - Siege Pale Ale A free sample received from Pint Please to review. Thanks! Flagship pale ale, let's see. BB 27/04/22. Gives bit too much foam once again. Dirty brown/orange, hazy color. Scent is.. eh, disgusting. I don't know what's it supposed to be like. Overly sweet spoiled artificial strawberries and vanilla. Spoiled case again, I guess. Sorry, this time the scent is so bad I don't even dare to taste it. Well, okay, I've had worse beers I think at least once so let's try. Yeah spoiled, lot of metallic yeast with that spoiled artificial strawberry. Finishes with cardboard and minerals. Body is drying, smooth I guess. One sip was enough. Can't be like this normally.

Best before 27.4.2022 (so maybe only three weeks old) Temperature: +10 C Not sure if this is oxidized or if the color is supposed to be that dark. Because it's really dark. No gray-yellow or dirty yellow, just dark. The head is large, airy, and collapses almost immediately. Not a very nice appearance, I just hate those overly large, airy foams. The texture looks much thicker than it should: 2,25/5 Ummm, the scent is terrible...this beer is seriously contaminated by something. I'm guessing at least pediococcus: 0/5 I took one sip and that was enough. The beer feels thick and slick, furthermore increasing my thoughts about the pediococcus infection: 0/5 Taste: 0/15 Overall: 0/20 =2,25/50 Maybe the worst commercial beer I've ever tasted. These kinds of beer should never, ever leave the brewery. Of course, it's possible that the contamination has happened in the cans or just with this one can but damn, effect of contamination have happened quickly if it's indeed occured in the Canning stage.

Hoppy and bit bitter pale ale. The scent is almost berry like. The can design is stylish and looks Irish 😄🇮🇪 Would be a good dinner beer.
