HEAD: Solid two finger, tight and creamy. GREY’S VIEW Vanilla flavoured Oatmel Stout, barreled for 6 months and 20 days in Knob Creek Bourbon Barrels. Another Barreled Souls. Here we go! Oh, it’s so slim!? ...and yammy! Barrels are there, but let’s not go there yet. Body is slim and tight, swift and agile. Mmm...*nods*...I wonder where have I thought that before..? Ok. Anyway. *shakes head* Carbonation is fascinating, supporting the flavours to the top; being lively and airy, semi wild and still managing to keep the softness on this. Amazing mouthfeel. Taste has feel of raw oats, straws, milk chocolate (overall feel of dairy is there) and some dry grass and slightly roasted malts. Knob Creek is delightfully present. Giving some stony, mineral and slightly promoting the crispy and mineral feel on this. Pretty much perfectly choosed barrel I’d say. Aftertaste is purely oaty, dry straw’d and Knob Creeked. Yammy stuff to the end. OTHER NOTES: Oatmeal Stout with some good old peek kick from the ’80’s! Easy with somewhat familiar tastes, presented in well formed being. Lot to like in this one! Not. Too.
