Son-in-laws has an excellent limited release stout waiting for me. This should be good.
Pours with a deep chocolate head, totally opaque color with just a little bit of ruby red reflection coming through. Strong alcohol aroma reflecting the numerous barrels that this beer has been aged in. Aroma also has strong dark raisin notes. Wow, this thing is as thick as molasses. Alcohol forward with all of the varied barrel aging, each took turns but a light Rye barrel seems to dominate. Very sweet with dark fruit, dates would be the most prominent. Some deep dark chocolate in the mix. Finish melts the sweet flavors together in a beautiful symphony of pleasure. Powerful 13.8% his beautifully handled by the balanced blend of all these flavors. Absolutely excellent. After long and careful, very careful deliberation I am forced to give this one a 5.0.
