Always nice to have a black IPA every once in a while. Or DIPA this time. Canned 21/12/20 so relatively fresh still. Scent has salty licorice with a hint of pine and resinous hop oil. Taste has ripen fruitiness, tea-like citrus, licorice, toasted malts, balanced piney bitterness. Bit of oranges at finish with dark bitter malts. Doesn't feel too black nor too IPA-ish. Body is smooth, has balanced carbonation. Bit on lighter side considering this is dipa, but acceptable. A black IPA with quite a good balance. Bitterness brings a nice backbone to it. A good example of BIPA.
