10,3 %:seksi Bourbon/tynnyri on saatu loistavasti esiin.

3rd Macchiato edition to me from Wylam. BEER: Buffalo Trace B.A. Edition Imperial Macchiato BREWERY: Wylam BEER STYLE: Imperial Porter (Buffalo Trace Bourbon BA) COUNTRY: England ALCOHOL (ABV): 10.3% COLOUR (EBC): Cola Black (82.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - SCENT: Really clean notes from the barrels. Also some malts and a hint of chocolates. FOAM: Dark Brown Red. Minimum sized. GREY’S VIEW Imperial Porter aged for 8 months in freshly emptied Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels. Indeed. 3rd version of these Macchiatos to me. Why not, yeah? Let’s dive in! First sip brings quite nice amount of flavours to me. Some drybread, hints of bourbon, some spices and semi decent amount of malts. I also get some rose, stony minerals and liquorice, so some might say it’s a decent piece of a Imperial Porter? Mouthfeel is light and barrel forwarded. Nice and spicey. Carbonation is somewhat sharp; supporting the barrels exceptionally well. Body is on the lighter side, hard to say from all these flavours. Aftertaste has spices, drybread, seriously good amount of wet Buffalo Trace Barrels and what else!? OTHER NOTES: Indeed. After reading few reviews from this piece I didn’t expect lot from this. But god damn it did surprise me in a good way! Yeehaw, Buffalo Trace Barrels! CANNED 2020 TASTED 2021

Earlier today I drank such a bad beer, I just couldn't let that be the last one for today. Hopefully, this is better. Best before 1.6.2022 (so maybe canned last summer) Temperature: +13 C Black colored brew with a regular-sized, airy head that's fizzling away quite fast. Very Soon there's only a tiny ring going around the surface. Appearance is not that great: 2,5/5 The nose starts with a hefty dose of chocolate and roasted coffee. But the coffee doesn't feel irritating as it sometimes does in beers. Then hazelnut which has merged up with bourbon. Lovely smooth vanilla and at the end, an interesting chili aroma🤷‍♂️that's weird, but I like it. There could be some more barrel aging but otherwise really nice: 4,25/5 Mouthfeel is medium but for this weight class, too light as it's letting alcohol push through too much. Although, the alcohol seems to settle down after some time. There's also a dry, roasty coffee feeling and a touch of malty softness. Definitely could use a thicker body but still, the complexity is clearly there: 4,25/5 Tastes of bitter chocolate, coffee, high roastiness, some Bourbon and oak alongside it, balanced malty sweetness, alcohol, and mild nutty flavor. Personally, I don't find any hazelnut and the nutty flavor is just... Well nutty: 12,25/15 Very nice and complex Imperial Porter. With a fuller body could be close to perfection! But I'm willing to forgive that since this is Imperial Porter and the thick mouthfeel isn't required contrary to Imperial Stouts. Or that's where I draw the biggest line between Stouts and Porters, the mouthfeel. Quality beer once again by Wylam. One of those breweries a beer lover can always rely on: 17/20 =40,25/50
