Here on my third day in Texas. Don't know how my son-in-law found this 2020 Celler Reserve but we are really looking forward to it. Have no idea what the hell the other three reviews said so mine might be the only one you get. First of all, it is posted at 11.2%. My bottle is distinctly labeled at 13.7%. Not sure why there might be a difference. Seems to pour an amber copper from the bottle but once in the glass, hold it to the light, and it is a very deep clear red. So deep it's almost opaque. Aroma is cherry, Brandy and alcohol. Sweet and flavorful. How to describe this first sip? Smooth, mellow, velvet, soft, savory, oak barrel Brandy, cherry. This is class in a glass. Take a small sip, lay back and close your eyes and allow the flavor to take over. Makes you feel like nobility. When I come to Texas, Ryan always finds treasures to share. He found another great experience in this classic. PS: After posting this I have to go back and mention that this is so subtle, so mellow that I did not even mention the 13.7%. Is it there? I don't know. Never felt the alcohol. That's how gentle it is.

Yksi hitaampi nautittava. North coastilta on tullut jokunen olut maistettua, tästä old alesta jää onneksi vielä toisen vuoden versio odottamaan. Siirappisen makea, melassinen, vaalean leipäinen ja rypäleinen makupaletti. Sokerisen tahmean makea, katkerot hieman kuivattaa ja yleisilme hyvin vahva ja lämmin. Täytyy antaa toisen version kypsyä rauhassa, ihan hieno olut joka tapauksessa.

Ehkäpä ensimmäistä (tai max toista) kertaa North Coastilta olutta lasiin 🍺. Vieläpä mielenkiintoisella Old Ale/Stock Ale tyylillä 😋.Tämä on 2021 versio mutta samat prosentit ja varmasti muutenkin sama olut kuin 2020,joten en tehnyt ainakaan vielä "uutta" 2021 versiota Pinttiin. Asiaan😅... Tuoksussa sellaista vaaleampaa maalaisleipäisyyttä,hyppysellinen melassisuutta ja makeampaan kääntyvää mallaspohjaa. Suutuntuma on melko hitaasti kulkeva,ihan pienellä lähes olemattomalla kuplaisuudella etenevä.Suattaapi nousta keskitäyteläisestä ehkä askeleen ylöspäin.Tarjoten myös kevyttä lämpöä ja melkoisen pyöreän pehmeätä tasaista tahtia. Maussa melassisuus on vahvana esillä selkeän makeanman maltaisen tukijalan ympäröimänä.Vaalea maalaisleipäisyys tuntuu saaneensa pienen määrän karamellisempaa sivupotkua myös messiinsä.Lempeä alkoholin häivähdys tässä myös pyörii suussa,mikä tuntuu sopivan tähän hienosti ja pidän siitä 😋. Maku tuntuu jatkuvan ja pyörivän suussa pitkään,luoden tähän kivasti syvyyttä vaikken tästä kauheasti erillaisia makuja saakkaan poimittua. Hyvä olut kyllä joisin mielläni toisen tai kolmannenkin joskus 😎🍻👌

Old stock ale 2020 - North Coast - 11,2%. Une barley wine californienne à la magnifique robe rousse tirant vers le marron et à la mousse blanche disparaissant très vite sans laisser de traces de son passage. Aucune bulle apparente mais ça châtouille la langue. Le nez est moyen, orienté raisin, caramel et vanille. En bouche la texture est légèrement plus dense que la normale mais moins sirupeuse que la majorité des bières de ce style. On retrouve les saveurs de caramel, de fruits secs, de raisins, de prune et d'épices, ce qui en fait presque une bière de noël. Le final est sucré (mais jamais écoeurant) et boisé mais absolument pas amer. L'équilibre et la longueur sont moyennes. C'est facile à boire pour une bière aussi forte. L'alcool réchauffe néanmoins tel un soleil intérieur le corps de l'enthousiaste du fauteuil en fin de dégustation. Pas mal.

Une bonne bière à boire au coin du feu pour se tenir chaud. Malheureusement elle ne propose rien de plus
