Hyvä mutta ei niin paksua/öljyistä kuin oletin. Mahtaisiko kypsytys parantaa...

Vähän turha yrittää ottaa hyvää kuvaa mustasta oluesta. Hyvää vaihtelua makeiden stouttien jälkeen. Suutuntuma tuhti, maku on maltainen ja jälkimaku viipyilee. "Perus" stoutti, eli ei mitään erikoista makua vaan todella hyvä lajinsa edustaja. Olari<3

0,33 pullo. Pehmeä suklainen stout. Tynnyrikypsytys on selvästi pehmittänyt makuja.

Opaque, jet black beer with really tame carbonation lays a tawny, velvety lace ring only. The head never spreads on the surface. The scent continues the same timid policy: weak roasted oat and a suggestion of multifibre bread. Not very inspiring... The taste saves almost everything in this beer: powerful harsh Bourbon, intense dark malt with a wisp of roast, a bit of raw cacao powder and remnant nuances of oak barrel. If I try very hard, I can force myself to find vanilla, as well. I can't help comparing this with "DBA Bock Me Amadeus" by the same brewery. It was a Doppelbock (11.9 %) while this is an Imperial Stout (10.4 %). Both are, however, double barrel aged in Jim Beam and Heaven Hill barrels. I fail now to pick almost all those seductive notes that I found in the Doppelbock. While it was a beautiful example of a double barrel aged beer, this one remains rather plain and unfinished. The body is relatively full. I'm glad about it. The beer finishes with cheap Bourbon, coarse oak barrel, dark roasted malt and a bit of dark bread. No further nuances. The aftertaste goes to a local Walmart and buys the cheapest whisky it can find while the tastebuds run quickly away ashamed. The mouthfeel is rather full, lip-glueing, simple and somewhat raw. It is barrel aged and intense for sure but no elegance at all, neither depth. Soft, lip-glueing and slightly woody, too. I can finish this but I expected much more. After "DBA Bock Me Amadeus", this is like someone pulling the carpet under your feet and you find yourself back in square one. NOTE: The barcode directs to the regular version.
