Sahti 5/5. Our own traditional Sahti. No additional flavors. About four weeks old now. Should be ideal.
The Sahti colors cloudy, medium-brown. A hair-thin, off-white ring of small bubbles visits the surface for a while. Soon the top is flat still.
The fragrance displays sweet malt, overripe banana and a suggestion of clove. A biscuity touch lands on the olfactory receptors nicely. Very rustic indeed!
The taste profile is traditional and medium-full. Semisweet malt, overripe banana and a bit of dried apricot constitute the experience. A substantially remote sigh of juniper looms in the imagination. The palate is what I expected, no big thrills but good old-school performance.
The body is medium-full. The beer ends unchanged. The impression is traditional and gluggable. The aftertaste offers Sahti to Santa Claus who takes too many sips and gets tipsy for a while.
The mouthfeel is rustic, a bit sticky and lip-glueing as well as nicely satiating. It's certainly predictable as I know what we brew. The mouthfeel is additionally reasonably full. Slurpable but leaves room for improvement.
