Cognac barrel-aged does have a nice ring to it. Let's give it a go. Collaboration beer from Basqueland x PÔhjala - Cognag BA Imperial Baltic Porter. BB 10/22 so I guess they give two years for it.. Pours deep dark brown in color with a brown head. Dissipates soon away without any traces. Aroma sure has loads of cognag, oak wood and dark chocolate. Simpel and proceeds in a straight course. Such a smooth and silky substance on the palate. Sticky lips as a result after only few sips. Semi-full on the palate. Starts off with lovely dose of cognag followed by dark chocolate and sugary nuance. I'm getting also some wanted liquorice here and even some sweeter darker fruit lurking in the corner of my mouth. Dry oak wood in the back end. I have now had pretty much half of the portion and this surely is a delight. Cognac truly suits my palate with beers.

Every now and again a beer comes along that completely blows you away. This here beer has done exactly that. My best beer of 2020 by a country mile. Incredibly smooth and silky with a full mouthfeel and low carbonation. Flavours of bitter dark chocolate, so bitter it’s almost metallic. That classic Baltic porter taste, ramped up tenfold. The cognac is evident and accentuates the Baltic porter perfectly. I’m absolutely gutted that this beer has finished. The taste of it will be etched into my beery memory for a very long time.
