Bière noire pétrole, petite mousse et houblons peu présents. Au nez, on sent des notes de céréales grillées, chocolat noir, café, cacao. L’alcool est déjà très très présents. Sous le palais, la bière est liquoreuse et dense. L’amertume est de moyenne à forte, l’alcool très fort et l’acidité légère. On ressent une grosse présence torréfiées avec les céréales grillées, chocolat noir, le café et le cacao. Il est possible que la bière est vieilli en barrique. Sentiment final, une excellente bière!

Nightcap after Christmas. Canned on 30.9.2020 (soon three months old) Temperature: +16 C Pours into the glass looking surypy thick. Black color. Small, soft-looking head with average retention. The texture looks relatively light: 3,75/5 The nose is bready malty, roasty with mild chocolate notes. Even a hint of cardboard... Boring, I was expecting a lot better: 2,5/5 Mouthfeel is medium, roasty, and bitter. Medium carbonation, some slickness. Light alcohol notes: 3/5 Taste is mostly roasty dry, coffee, chocolate, some bready maltiness. You know, the basic. And it would be absolutely fine but God damn is this soulless or what?! The stinging roasty aftertaste isn't really making me happy either. Some caramel pops out after the beer warms up, adding some complexity but it is not enough to safe the beer: 8,25/15 What a letdown. Well, I guess beer is sometimes hit, sometimes miss. This is the latter... Perhaps some aging would do something but I strongly believe that this is not an age thing. The beer just isn't that good really: 11,5/20 =29/50
