Eagle Claw Fist was a part of our core lineup in the early days as a punchy Imperial Amber Ale. It was one of our favorites and we’ve missed it ever since it was retired.
We finally found an excuse (our 10th Anniversary!) to dust off the recipe and update it for 2019 with a more expressive, modern hop bill that balances strong malt flavors with notes of citrus, pine, and a touch of resin.

This is beer number 8 in Clown Shoes "The 12 Beers of Christmas" collection. A gift from my son-in-law in Texas. Having a great time as we "Duo" and rate the beers together.
Pours to a clear and very deep totally red color. Moderate tan head. Aroma has both a citrus and a roasted quality. First sip has a punch of bitterness reminiscent of IPAs but quickly dissipates followed by a strong roasted amber flavor. No sooner has the bitterness disappeared, it then reappears prominently in the finish and continues while a roasted maltiness lingers in the background.
This is like someone took a very strong amber ale and blended it with a citrus IPA. Very unique combination of flavors that actually balances extremely well.
