Burn is a brand new lager brewed with our friends @notchbrewing during their visit to Richmond for our Forever Summer Festival. We used a modern/modified take on a traditional decoction mash process, lots of floor-malted wheat, a touch of smoked wheat, then hopped with fresh Saaz as well as some aged whole leaf hops that we typically reserve for our Lambic-inspired beers. Burn was then cold-conditioned to perfection for two months.

Reviewing a beer, a year to the day since it was drank, thanks to Facebook for the reminder a quick sift back through my notes and I found this!
A refreshing full bodied wheat lager that has hints of smoke. I’m not sure if this is the elusive grodziskie style smoked lager I’ve been wanting to try but if it is I’m impressed. Finishes with a grassy bitterness and is a fantastic antidote to all the dark beers I’ve been trying.
